About Us

Unity and Cultural Diversity Council (UCDC) is a South African registered Non Profit Organization in terms of the NPO Act 1997. The organization was founded by young vibrant visionary leader Thabang Tjale and co-founder art enthusiast Nkoana Raphala, and therefore registered in 2012. The organization aims to empower youth in historically disadvantaged communities through arts, culture, recreation and leadership. We are youth led art organization motivated to restore African identity through the practice of art. In the organization's management structure, we have college and university art students, aspiring artists and visionary born leaders who have sense of investment and involvement in the art industry. All the members of organization are team players, art enthusiasts and dedicated professionals who pride themselves with excellence.

It's been almost a decade in the existence of the organization and we are still making the differences. We have implemented an Entrepreneurial Development Challenge(EDC) program aiming to alleviate poverty in rural areas. In 2019 we introduced our 1st public art performance programme Kopanong Annual Youth Public Art Jamboree in Tembisa and it was a success as we unleashed hidden talents that could have gone unnoticed in the historically disadvantaged township. We went on to pride our excellence with Young Creative Writers Empowerment program in Zebediela & Sekhukhune, Limpopo Province by encouraging sense of investment and involvement in literature learning. We also have Youth Art Talk (YAT) programme which aims at implementing a strategic way of engaging more youth to public art programs and also the preparation of staging the performances.
